2010 Memorial Day Parade

Parade at 1:00 pm
Festivities at Notte Park from 12 - 6 pm

 
The Parade will kick off at 1 p.m., rain or shine, on Memorial Day (Monday, May 31) from the parking lot of North Providence High School and travel East on Mineral Spring Avenue, turn left onto Douglas Avenue (North-bound), and end at Governor John A. Notte, Jr. Park. The route is about 1 mile.

The event will be capped by an afternoon of festivities at Governor Notte Park from 12 pm - 6 pm.

 
Shuttle Service will be available to relieve traffic and parking congestion.  The shuttle will begin at the North Providence High School side parking lot, which will serve as the main parking area. The shuttle secondary pick-up points will be at these locations:

* Lowe's, corner of Mineral Spring Ave and Douglas Ave.  Parking with shuttle 11:30am - 6:30pm

* St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave.

* Birchwood Middle School, 10 Birchwood Drive.

The shuttle's final destination will be at the Dillon Council Knights of Columbus building on Douglas Pike, near Governor Notte Park. It will return for continuous rotations between the high school and the park.
 
Several busses will continuously drive a route on a time rotating basis starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. from the high school, south on Smithfield Road to Salem Drive, Douglas Avenue, Lexington, Tiffany, Thelma, Terry, Mineral Spring, Pope Street, Benjamin, Lexington, Birchwood, Brookfarm, Countryside, Marconi, Douglas to the Knights of Columbus parking lot, south to Fitzhugh, Puritan, Mineral Spring to the high school side lot.

Entertainment at the park will be provided by Luke’s DJ. There will also be several Arts & Crafts vendors.
 
Roads Closed: Mineral Spring Avenue between the high school and Douglas Avenue will be closed for about 90 minutes at 12:45 p.m. and part of Douglas Avenue will be closed until the end of the parade.
