Early Voting
Early in person voting for Registered voters in the Town of North Providence begins October 16, 2024 Monday thru Friday from 8:30AM -4:00 PM and will continue until November 4, 2024 ending at 4PM . Where registered voters can cast their ballot in person for the 2024 General Election Candidates. Early voting will take place in the Assembly Room G19 Located on the Ground level of Town hall (back Handicap accessible entrance ) on 2000 Smith Street North Providence RI 02911.

The Office of the Board of Canvassers is located on the lower level of North Providence Town Hall.
The mission of the Board of Canvassers is to maintain the highest standards of professionalism for the electoral process and voter registration records maintenance.
The Board of Canvassers works in cooperation with The Rhode Island Board of Elections and The Office of the Secretary of State, Elections Division to protect the integrity of all elections.
Voter Registration
If you would like to register to vote you may visit the office, request that a form be mailed to you, or obtain a form by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
The voter registration form is multi-purpose and may be used for address changes, name changes, and changes of party affiliation.
You must be registered to vote for 30 days prior to voting in any primary or election as mandated by Rhode Island General Law § 17-1-3. Party affiliation changes become effective 30 days after the change is filed with this office.

Voter ID
In accordance with Rhode Island’s Voter Identification law, Rhode Island voters are required to show identification at the polls when applying for a ballot. If you are registered to vote and you arrive at your proper polling place without an ID, you still have the right to vote via provisional ballot. Voting by Mail Ballot
If you would like to vote by mail ballot, you may visit the office, request that a form be mailed to you, or obtain a form by clicking the mail ballot application link below or you may also apply for a mail ballott online by visiting the RI Secretary of State’s Mail Ballot Portal.
