North Providence Fire Department Goes Live With
New Computer Aided Dispatch SystemDispatchers now have live mapping to Wireless 911 calls, and can instantaneously see on a map where the caller is located without even speaking to the caller.
This new technology also allows Fire Apparatus and Rescue units to see live mapping of these calls and provide updated status changes during times of high radio traffic or Radio system failure. This system is expected to decrease response times and will better coordinate apparatus responses.
