Recycling Saves Tax Dollars

No Trash & Recycling Pickup on Friday, June 19th. Collection for the Friday route will be done on Saturday, June 20th. No other routes are affected by this delay.

Holiday closings and trash pickup delays are also posted on the Town Calendar.

 

Trash & Recycling reminders:

– Regular trash will be collected weekly.
– Recyclables will be collected bi-weekly in the carts.
– Yard waste pickup begins April 1st and ends December 15th.
– Residents can purchase a second trash tote for $65.

North Providence was recognized at the 139th Rhode Island Arbor Day celebration, receives Grants

 

 

The Town of North Providence was recognized at the 139th Rhode Island Arbor Day celebration. The town received two awards through the RI Department of Environmental Management’s Urban & Community Forestry Program and the Tree Equity RI Program.
 
These awards will support a more robust tree program and allow us to begin beautification work in the lower-canopied neighborhoods of North Providence.

TAX COLLECTOR

The Town of North Providence is looking for a highly organized, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented Tax Collector responsible for overseeing all municipal tax collection operations under the general direction of the Town Administration and Finance Director. The Tax Collector manages all tax collections, balancing procedures, delinquent collections, tax sales, financial reporting, and compliance with Rhode Island General Laws and municipal policies. This position serves as the primary authority for tax collection operations and is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining confidential records, supervising office procedures, and providing professional customer service to residents and taxpayers. The position requires strong financial management skills, extensive knowledge of municipal tax collection laws and practices, and the ability to effectively oversee daily office operations in a fast-paced public service environment.
