2024 Election Important Dates & Deadlines

2024 Presidential Preference Primary will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024

Deadlines for the above are as follows:

  • Deadline to register/ disaffiliate to vote in the April 2, 2024 Presidential Preference Primary is March 3, 2024 (details for location as to where to register on the deadline will follow).   
  • Mail Ballot Application Deadline is March 12, 2024 at 4:00PM
  • Early Voting Period begins on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 8:30AM and will continue (Monday through Friday) from 9:00AM to 4:00PM until the Early Voting ending date which is Monday, April 1, 2024 at 4:00PM

Early Voting will be held in:
North Providence Town Hall
2000 Smith Street, Assembly Room G19,
North Providence, RI  02911

Statewide Primary is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, September 10, 2024

Statewide General Election is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Online Voter Registration

To download voter registration forms and mail ballot applications, or view information on your voting district, visit the RI Office of the Secretary of State, Elections and Civics Division, RI Voter Information Center website.

Voter Registrations are received daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Board of Canvassers Office or use Online Voter Registration.

Online forms for Voter Registration are available from the RI Board of Elections website.

The North Providence Board of Canvassers is looking for individuals interested in serving as moderators, clerks, supervisors or greeters for this year’s Primary and General election. You must be at least 16 years old and registered or pre-registered to vote.

Work hours are 6:00 am to approximately 9:00 pm. A training class prior to Election Day is mandatory.
Moderators and clerks now receive $250;
Supervisors and Greeters now receive $225.

Interested persons should contact The North Providence Board of Canvassers Dept, by calling 232-0900, extension 1230, 1235, and 1241; or emailing or visiting the Board of Canvassers at Town Hall, Lower Level, Room G13, 2000 Smith Street.
