TOWN OF NORTH PROVIDENCE
NOTICE OF MEETING

       THE NORTH PROVIDENCE BOARD OF CANVASSERS will meet on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the BOARD OF CANVASSERS ROOM, Room G-13, at The North Providence Town Hall, 200 Smith Street.  The meeting is for the purpose of canvassing the Preliminary List of North Providence Voters, and to hear objections to the inclusion or omission of any person as a registered voter, and to make a Final Canvass and correction of the voter registration file for the Rhode Island General Election that is to take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

      The Preliminary List of North Providence Voters will be posted on Monday, October 7, 2024 by 2 p.m. in the Board of Canvassers Office, Room G-13 in North Providence Town Hall and a corrected copy of the preliminary list will be reposted by 2 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the same location.

     More election information can be obtained by calling 401-232-0900 Ext. 1230 Check and update your voter registration online at vote.ri.gov.

2024 General Election Important Dates and Deadlines

ATTENTION VOTERS

      The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024

ALL OF THE 13 POLLING LOCATIONS WILL BE OPEN TO VOTE ON IN PERSON ELECTION DAY

Mail ballot application deadline

Any registered voters wishing to vote by mail mail–in ballot in the November5,2024 Rhoda Island General Election must submit a mail ballot application to the North Providence Board of Canvassers located in North Providence Town Hall, Rm G-13,2000 Smith Street, North Providence RI, no later than 4p.m. on Tuesday October 15 2024.

There is also a mail ballot drop box located in the back parking lot of Town Hall that will be open starting on Tuesday October 1, 2024 to receive completed mail ballots in their oath and mailing envelopes prior to their published deadliness for receipt 

LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL ELECTION

Sunday October 6, 2024

The deadline to register to vote for the upcoming General Election on November 5, 2024 is October 6th 2024. You can register in person at Town hall board of Canvassers Dept. Room G13 up till Friday October 4, 2024 or on the Secretary of State website vote.sos.ri.gov. The Office of the Board of Canvassers hours are 8:30-4:30 Monday thru Friday. North Providence residents may also register to vote or update their voter registration on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Service Desk of the Public Safety Complex, located at 1835 Mineral Spring Avenue.

To download voter registration forms and mail ballot applications, or view information on your voting district, visit the RI Office of the Secretary of State, Elections and Civics Division, RI Voter Information Center website.

Voter Registrations are received daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Board of Canvassers Office or use Online Voter Registration.

The North Providence Board of Canvassers is looking for individuals interested in serving as moderators, clerks, supervisors or greeters for this year’s Primary and General election. You must be at least 16 years old and registered or pre-registered to vote.

Work hours are 6:00 am to approximately 9:00 pm. A training class prior to Election Day is mandatory.
Moderators and clerks now receive $250;
Supervisors and Greeters now receive $225.
